A personal favorite...

This movie made me feel, made me tear repeatedly and cling to it every time I catch it on TV like a madwoman. Not that this is much news to me: I'm from one of those South American countries as described in the movie. That's exactly a documentary for the level of truth it encompasses. My favorite part is when it's revealing, as if it was the first time the woman heard of it, of the conception of "democracy" in a country like mine: kill the president who wants to do things better. Like killing President Allende in my neighbor Chile. The funny thing is not our differences, when it comes to our societies and needs, but our similarities. Buenos Aires Argentina looks like a big oversized New York (albeit with dirtier streets, we haven't got laws about it, but I digress.) And there's a whole surrounding illusion that everything is okay and you are free and no one is scared of doing something... And of course, as you walk further away from the center area, the outskirts of the Capital City of Argentina starts to look more and more like Brazil's "fabelas" (shantytown cities). It all depends where to look. I stray a bit from the subject of the movie but that's the one thing the movie didn't talk about much, though it's kind of a relief to see an American movie taking their heads out of their butts - pardon the vulgarity. 'Been on US myself, hence I know it's not that different there. Of course, your "bad neighborhoods" are nowhere near as bad as ours. But the mechanisms explained in the movie are the same, and it really takes an example from one place or the other. Well, the problems are there. And yes, Americans are hated, very much hated by all without exception by every single person in my country. And from what I heard, you don't do much better in all others countries. The movie gets 5 starts from me and a 10/10 for superb performances, good concept and a story of self-discovery, in a fiction that is yet reality. It doesn't hurt that Angelina Jolie co-stars it ?_? "El pueblo unido jam?s ser? vencido"
